How did you get into archery?
I did a have-a-go at an armed forces day and loved it so much I searched out a club in the local area offering a beginners course. I've been fortunate to join the Bowmen of INA, a fantastic and supportive CSSC club less than 5 miles from our home.
What are your archery performance highlights?
2017 NFAS South West Challenge win
Somerset County indoor champion 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022, 2023, 2024
Somerset county outdoor champion 2021, 2024
Highest gents recurve at the GWAS intercounties with my first ever competition GMB 70m score and a county record for a double 720
Proudly represented Somerset as part of the county team for the past 7 years
What are your goals for 2025 and beyond?
I've seen my scores steadily rise over the past season, so my goal for 2025 is to build on that and achieve a solid MB classification with a few GMB competition scores.

Who has been most influential in helping you get to your current level?
I'd have to say my wife - the support she's given over the years has been invaluable. Happy when I'm off at competitions, the first to congratulate the successes, great at pointing out when something's changed in my shot process. She's the best coach I've ever had. It helps she's also a successful archer in her own right.
Who is your most admired archer?
Brady Ellison - a true legend of the modern age.
What advice can you give to up and coming new archers?
Be a sponge - ask advice from experienced club members and try to mimic what they do. Don't try changing too many things at once, and make sure you practice, practice, practice to embed changes to your technique before you move on and try the next thing. See if your club has adopted the 252 scheme - it's a great way to gauge your progress as you develop through the sport. When you're ready, check out the local competition scene - it's a great place to watch how others shoot, and learn from archers of a higher level.
