How did you get into archery?
My family has always had an interest in archery and my grandad had previously shot for GB. When we found a have a go session at a holiday camp we grabbed the opportunity to try it out. I was only 7 at the time! At the end of this session we did some ‘one arrow shoot offs’ and I beat everyone in the group, winning a chocolate bar, we then quickly signed up to an archery club and I have been doing archery ever since.
What are your archery performance highlights?
Winning two BUCS silver team medals (Ladies Recurve Team) representing the University of Warwick Archery Club.
Competing for England at the Junior National Indoor Championships when I was 15.
What are your goals for 2025 and beyond?
My primary goal in archery is just to have fun and enjoy myself. As long as I'm doing that I'm satisfied. However some other goals for 2025 and the future include:
- Representing the Hampshire county team
- Achieve Master Bowman Classification
- Attend as many local shoots as I can!
None.
Who has been most influential in helping you get to your current level?
My Dad. He’s always supported me and my sister in archery. Without his help, guidance and encouragement, I wouldn't be where I am now. Even though I've now left home, he is always there from a distance cheering me on.
Who is your most admired archer?
Once again my Dad (Men Recurve 50+ Indoor National Champion)! When he does well it always motivates me to do well, and when we’re shooting together I always aim to beat his scores, I mostly don't, but I always like to think I have the chance.
What advice can you give to up and coming new archers?
The most important thing is to have fun! Find the bit of archery that you love and stick with it. Get involved with as much as you can within your club and enter local tournaments. Find what you love about archery and stick with that!
