How did you get into archery?
As a family, we tried archery at a holiday camp. Jodie beat everyone and won a chocolate bar. We then booked her on to a beginner's course. I did the course as well so I could help her out.

What are your archery performance highlights?
Being back-to-back National Indoor 50+ champion has to be up there - along with holding a National record.

What are your goals for 2024 and beyond?
To become 50+ Outdoor Champion and become a GMB.

Manufacturer sponsors
Hosiden Besson Ltd (my employer) and Wolf International for whom I have designed some of their products.

Who has been most influential in helping you get to your current level?
Me! I think the last bit of coaching I had was when I attended the beginner's course.

Who is your most admired archer?

My late father-in-law John Collard. Although I never saw him shoot, I loved his stories about archery competitions and his achievements in the sport.

What advice can you give to up and coming new archers?

Don't try to run before you can walk.
Build up you bow weight in stages so you can fully control it.
Practice as often as you can.
Use bow drills. Most archers I see are under performing because that are not bow fit.
Get a book and write stuff down - scores, weather, measurements, how you felt etc. This is a great resource to look back on.
Remember that archery is a fun sport and there are loads of new friends waiting to be discovered.
If you see me on the shooting line, come and have a chat - I can talk for ages!
